Homeschool bill to be reconsidered

I miss Westbrook Pegler. He would conjure up a cartooner's vocabulary to describe the public school people.

The Educrats got their favorite politicians --"campaign" contributees all--to propose a homeschool registration statute. Four thousand folks showed up to protest the idea. The pols are now reconsidering.

The bill would put the home schools under the boot of the failed public school system. Heaven forbid children should escape the liberal "values" of the teachers taught by the liberal college professor who turn out liberal teachers.

Of course, those in favor of this kind of regulatory fascism said that it is all for the good of the children. The public schools would be enabled, they say, to furnish goodies. "Educational aids" and "supplements" are mentioned; but no specific examples come forth. Would they send overhead projectors with slides from National Geographic for Children?

Conversations are supposed to end with any assertion of the "good for the children." I assert that home schools EXIST for the good of the children. You could even say they exist for the BETTERMENTof the children.

What say you?
