The Governor of Texas is "Considering placing the Confedrate colours on special license plates. Naturally, the usual suspects are screeching their usual objections. They will not prevail.
Eleven States already have special Confederate tags, and Florida is in suit to become the twelfth or thirteenth, depending on the Taxas outcome. Many precedents are in place for the Florida Sons of Confederate Veterans to win the suit.
The century-plus myth that A. Lincoln prosecuted the war to end slavery, persists, even though ole Abe himself said if he could win the war without "freeing" any slaves, he would do so.
One fact is, friends, Romans, and Countrymen, that Congress ended slavery after Lincoln's war of Northern Aggression.
The final and ruling fact is, that the Confederate military and navy were the last Americans to fight and die for the sovereignty of the several States.
